Interview

Hi Aitziber! To begin with, tell us a little bit about yourself. Why did you decide to start a career in real estate?

Hello! I started working at Inmobiliaria Chomón by chance. Some relatives opened a small real estate agency (today there are already 7 offices spread over the left bank and the greater Bilbao area) and I combined my classes with part-time job there. When I finished my studies, I had to decide between the two options and I opted for this sector. Today, almost 30 years later, I know that my decision was the right one. I am working in something that I am passionate about and I am lucky enough to work in a company that is constantly training us to be at the forefront of the sector; and to be able to help people who sometimes feel lost in the process of selling a property.

Describe a typical working day for you.

No two days are the same! One day I can go to the signing of a property and the next I may have to visit a house that someone has inherited and doesn't quite know what to do with it. What never changes is dealing directly with people, feeling grateful that someone trusts me, how great I feel when some rebellious operation goes ahead.

Tell us about your role in the real estate sector.

Within my office, I am the one who coordinates the seller's agents and the buyer's agents and handles the "paperwork" in a sale and purchase from the delivery of the reservation to the signing of the title deeds.

How has the pandemic changed the real estate sector in Spain?

I believe that our industry was already in the process of change, but the pandemic has meant that we have to get our act together, especially in the digitalisation of companies.

And tell us a bit about how you got to know Floorfy.

As I mentioned before, Chomón invests in training and we are lucky to have Carlos Rentalo as a mentor who told us about the platform, on the other hand, we follow Ivan from imageninmobiliaria on instagram, who has also talked about your services etc.

What are your plans and objectives for the upcoming year?

To keep improving and learning in order to become the best version of myself.
