Intro

Hi, I'm Elena Rico from Elephant Real Estate.

Interview

Hi Elena! To begin with, tell us a little bit about yourself. Why did you decide to start a career in real estate?

I have always worked in the commercial field, in the Insurance Sector. At the end of 2015 I became unemployed and it was at that moment when I thought about turning my life around. This sector had always caught my attention, I looked at agencies in my area and I took the plunge. Two months later I was already involved and happy.

Describe a typical working day for you.

My working day is very varied. But I do manage to keep a bit of order in what I consider to be the most important things. I get up early and train, that's the first thing, so that I'm ready for the rest of the day. First thing in the morning, from 9 a.m. onwards, I manage my mail, make pending calls, meetings and other computer work. I leave the afternoons for visits. Some days are crazy, others are quieter, but I manage everything.

Tell us about your role in the real estate sector.

I have worked as a consultant for 5 years but for the last year I have been Team Manager. I have a team, RICO TEAM and I am happy to have taken this step. We work together every day, they learn from me and I learn from them, we achieve things together and it is very rewarding.

How has the pandemic changed the real estate sector in Spain?

I don't like to speak in general terms as each area is different for very different reasons. But if you ask me on a more local level, I would say that it has changed a lot. Bear in mind that I work mainly in the Sierra Noroeste area of Madrid. This "exodus" to the outskirts that has been talked about so much is true, we have noticed it a lot. This has led to a price increase of up to 20% in some cases. It's been a crazy year.

And tell us a bit about how you got to know Floorfy.

I found out about it through Instagram. I think it's a very interesting platform, it brings ideas to the sector and I think it's essential to get to know other colleagues in the profession through you.

What are your plans and objectives for the upcoming year?

To keep growing, in small but steady steps. To expand the team and continue learning.
